Description
A spectrum analyzer is a device that measures and displays the amplitude (strength) of a signal depending on the frequency within its frequency range (spectrum). The frequency is displayed on the horizontal (X) axis, and the amplitude is displayed on the vertical (Y) axis. It looks like an oscilloscope, and in fact some devices can function either as oscilloscopes or as spectrum analyzers.
The spectrum analyzer is a tool that can detect elusive effects in radio frequency signals, trigger these effects, easily record them into memory and analyze them in the frequency, time, modulation, statistical and code domains.
