The specially designed foam-gel ear pads provide 26 dB outside noise reduction and provide exceptional comfort. A true dual channel, stereo headset, the Pro 7 Series feature an audio balance control which allows the user to adjust the level of the left earphone to match the right. A unique phase-reversal switch greatly helps the listener “dig out” weak signals. The latest version of the Pro 7 features a monitor jack which allows a second operator to plug in headphones and monitor audio.
The flexible gooseneck mic boom on Pro 7S may be rotated for use on either the right or left ear.
The Heil Sound IC electret microphone element has been made to utilize bias power in ICOM radios which addresses low-gain issues that arise when using dynamic elements. The -3 dB points are fixed at 80 Hz and 12.5 kHz. The IC element requires +5 volts DC bias power, which all ICOM rigs provide. The Pro 7 IC is supplied with our AD-l IC eight pin ICOM adapter cable. The IC adapters have no internal DC blocking capacitor so bias voltage can be passed allowing the IC electret element to operate.
The balance control located on the left speaker controls the left speaker. To use, set a comfortable right side level with the AF gain of the receiver. You can then adjust the left side speaker where necessary to balance the audio between the speakers. In most cases, the balance control will be close to maximum.
